A Nature Preserve in Our Neck of the Woods

It is no secret that here in the Exuma’s, we are Bahamian proud. We love everything that makes up our island — the sand, surf, nature, and ecology. We are lucky to be surrounded by so many beautiful things and we recognize that it is our responsibility to try and protect our environment as much as possible. One of the most important places in the Exuma’s is Moriah Harbour Cay National Park. This preserve covers 13,440 acres of the entire island and is a crucial part of the delicate ecosystem in the Bahamas.

This park houses many different types of habitats for tons of different species of fish, birds, reptiles and other animals. The park was established in 2002, as a way to create a safe haven for the wildlife that lives on our island.
